LIFE directs 100% of funds raised to our two charities of choice:
The Stephen Lewis Foundation
The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) works with community-based organizations turning the tide of HIV and AIDS in Africa. Since 2003, the Foundation has disbursed more than $89 million to over 1,400 initiatives in the 15 African countries hardest hit by the global AIDS epidemic. The Foundation’s partner organizations provide counselling and education about HIV prevention, care and treatment; distribute food, medication and other necessities; reach the sick and vulnerable through home-based health care; help orphans and vulnerable children access education and work through their grief; and support grandmothers caring for their orphaned grandchildren. The staff and volunteers of these community-based organizations know that what is fundamentally at stake in the response to the HIV and AIDS epidemic is resilience—people’s ability to cope with crisis, to regroup and rebuild, and to move forward with their lives. Their ultimate aim is not only to improve services but, through doing so, ensure the long-term wellbeing and dignity of the people in their communities.
World Vision
World Vision is a Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Inspired by our Christian values, World Vision is dedicated to serving all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
World Vision has been working in the sector for more than 60 years and provides assistance to over 100 million people in nearly 100 countries around the world. We understand the political, economic, and social challenges faced by children and families in impoverished communities. We join with them to find lasting ways to improve their lives. World Vision works with Canadian and overseas governments, decision-makers and corporations to address the needs of the most vulnerable children. World Vision has an aspirational vision: “Our vision for every child: life in all its fullness. Our prayer for every heart: the will to make it so.”
